4Uppababy Vista Vs. Britax B-Ready
By S. Ng
Some differences with Uppababy Vs. Britax B-Ready:WHEELS - Vista wins. Vista had better wheels. Vista had tread and were more grippery tire like feel. B-Ready had smooth plastic feel to them. I can see that they would get all scratched up easily. B-Ready also had fenders on them which seem to add to bulk. Comparing closely it almost appear one could put Vista's wheels to B-Ready. It's that similar!HANDLE - B-Ready wins. Handle on B-Ready was nicer than Vista. It pivoted instead of telescoping (which was what the Vista does). The center was had a grip that was molded for one-handed steering. The arms and wrist seem more comfortable (rested more parallel like on a keyboard). My wife at 5'2 found the Vista handle too high and wished it could adjust lower.FOLDING - Vista wins (barely). Comparing the two, the wife like the Vista (it did take several attempts for wife to get the feel for it, as did I ! Once figured out it was ok).B-Ready required two hands as well but you sort of have to use your stomach so that you could pull the levers toward you and have it collapse. I found it easy if you have larger hands you can pull down the levers easier but since my wife is 5'2, her hands are smaller and sort of used her stomach a bit. With time, I think she could avoid using her stomach. She would just hold the bar and use her fingers to pull down. We also found that you had to straighten out the B-Ready's handle so that when you fold it, it would stand properly stand up and you could lock the folding clasp. DEFINITELY TRY FOLDING IT YOURSELF IN THE STORE! (just to add an another stroller, the Baby Jogger City Select has really easy folding capability!). Both stands up when folded although you have to consciously stand it up. The sales person always seems to fold it and let it flop to the ground. I doubt one would do that outside.Note on second seat folding - The folding of the B-Ready allows the second seat to be on but it was very bulky (and heavy at a total of 35 lbs) and the canopy of the second seat would get dirty. It's better to just remove the seat.MAIN SEAT - Vista wins. Vista has 0 degree seat position and B-Ready did not. Vista 2010 added this to address a common complaint. B-Ready is slightly on the decline. So while the B-Ready has a handle that is more ergonomically correct for mom's wrist, it seems the seat upright capability is better for the kid. (previous Vista 2009 owners found the kid pulling themselves forward to get upright).SECOND SEAT (REAR) - B-Ready wins . Recline of 2nd child add on - B ready was clearly better since it can recline to horizontal sleeping position. Vista had one position. It was not upright but slightly tilted back. More for a child chilling out and may nit be the best if kid is sleeping. The Vista seat was also closer to the front seat and B- Ready has more room for child in rear. A taller person may hit the B-Ready seat with their stride but I'm 5'10 and its not a problem. Also, note that the B-Ready second seat is in the rear of parent behind main seat FORWARD FACING whereas, Vista is in FRONT of main seat REAR FACING. Big difference here! I believe that's why the B-Ready can recline safely. I don't think I would want to have a Vista recline in front and therefore exposing the child's head.STORAGE - B-Ready wins (barely). B-Ready is accessible on all sides. Vista's is on the rear only. With the rear seat, this is important. However, the Vista has a bar running across where the kid can sort of step their feet on. The B-Ready has their feet in the entire basket and the kids would probably kick at your diaper bag.CONFIGURATIONS - B-Ready wins. B-Ready has 14 configurations vs. Vista's 3 configurations. Most notably are: B-Ready has ability to use two infant carriers at the same time. You can also place infant carrier in the rear (Vista you cannot. You can only put it in the front). B-Ready can use the bassinet with the second seat. Vista cannot use bassinet with rear seat. After all this, I am still having problems deciding. For me, it comes down to Vista's 0 degree position but no full recline in rear seat Vs. B-Ready's full recline rear seat but lack of 0 degree position.Edit:Update - I ended up buying the Britax B-ready. It's been used it for 6 weeks now. So far, its been great! Very nice, easy ride. It can be bumpy on cobble stones and uneven surfaces. If you want a smoother ride on these surfaces, you'll need bigger, air-filled tires. My complaint is the unfolding part. When unfolding, the plastic clip that holds the stroller , is tricky to "undo" so you can unfold it. You need to pull it out a bit before you unfold which can be tough. I think we'll need more practice at doing this. I'll report back in a few more months.

4Almost perfect double! Updated.
By Kerri Calder
Update*** One year later:Still love the stroller but find that my 3.5 yr old is now too tall for the front seat. The back of the seat is tall enough but the foot rest is way too short! His feet hang off by at least 6 inches. All in all, it has been a great stroller but I think I may be putting it on craigslist soon. However, he still fits in the bottom seat, although he is above the weight limit by 4 lbs. Thanks, Hollie for another great review! This stroller is the best stroller I have used, and I have tried 14 different strollers, 3 doubles and 11 singles. Here is my review of it:The sun shades for the main stroller and the additional second seat are quite adequate. Plenty of shade and a great magnetic peek a boo window that doesn't wake the baby like Velcro can. Both seats fully recline, which is totally different than the Phil and Teds and Uppa Doubles. I love that I can face the top seat towards me and it can also face out.Speaking of seats: My 32lb, 37" tall, 2 yr old can fit quite comfortably in the second seat. He can climb in without the top seat or with the top seat on and the stroller doesn't even start to tip! The Phil and Teds Sport is way more tip happy and we have had several times where it tipped with just a diaper bag on the handle. The new Britax b-ready did not tip with my toddler and a TON of shopping bags on the handle and NO baby on the top. That is a fantastic feature! My todder doesn't mind at all being in the "fort" as we call it!The britax infant seat fits great on top as the main seat and the clips that must be inserted on your carseat in order for the two to snap together can be left on your carseat and it doesn't effect the usability of your base in your car. That will make more sense after you see the stroller and carseat adaptor. The handle bar adjusts for tall and shorter parents great. I skipped the cup holder that comes with it and used a BOB stroller caddy as a cup holder and it fits perfectly. The brake is also great! Just a quick tap on a foot pedal locks it and another tap unlocks it. It is even color coded-red locked, green unlocked. It is so easy that my toddler, who often walks along beside, will step on the brake and say "red light-STOP!" 'The under basket is GREAT! Lots of storage, even with the second seat and the understorage used as a foot well for your other child. You can access the understorage on all sides due to zippers on each side of the basket. I even hang my very large messenger bag/diaper bag on the handle bar and it hangs right behind the second seat with no problem.I have never kicked the second seat when walking nor has my husband. However, I am only 5ft but he is 5'10.The stroller handles very well! It turns as easily as a jogger. IMO, just as good as a BOB.The front wheels are small but can be locked to go straight. Here is one of my only complaints. I wish that Britax would make interchangeable wheels that could snap on that are bigger for rougher bumpier terrain. I have to pull the stroller onto back wheels in order to get in over the 1 inch lip going from the street to my driveway. It comes with a rain guard which is very nice. The straps are my other complaint. I am having a difficult time getting them to be long enough to fit over my toddler's shoulders and my 6 months shoulders. They seem to be too short. However that may be user error, I am looking into it.I really love how the stroller is so versatile with all the different seat configurations! Although, it would be nice if the lower carseat adaptor came standard with the stroller. It is a smooth ride and my kids really like it. For me it is a near perfect double stroller!

3Baby Jogger City Select vs. Britax B-Ready
By Justbooking
With three kids under four, including twins, I've had my fair share of double strollers. The Baby Jogger City Select and the Britax B -Ready looked very similar, but they're not when used in doubles mode. Which stroller is better really depends on the age of your kids. For my twins and different age kids, I found the City Select had more advantages, but if you don't have kids close in age, the Britax is worth looking at.Some considerations:* The City Select stroller was Baby Gizmo's top tandem stroller in 2010 -- the 2011 model has been redesigned with deeper and firmer seats, improving an already excellent stroller. The Britax B-Ready is a first-generation stroller and still has some areas that could be improved upon.* Of the two, the City Select is a better stroller for twins because of the 45 lb. weight allowance for each of its full-size seats (90 lb total including storage for the whole stroller), foot wells that expand to 10.5 inches and large canopies that raise up to 24", allowing you to use it all the way up till your children are age 4 or 5. The Britax only has one full size seat as the second seat has a lower weight capacity.* The Britax B-Ready is a good option if you have two kids of different ages (1 & 3 for example) given the different weight limits on its seats. If you have twins, you'll be limited by the second seat's 35 lbs. weight capacity and a 22" canopy, to about 3 years old - only one child will be able to ride in the stroller past this weight, which is Ok only if one of them has outgrown the stroller. I still use my City Select stroller for long outings with my 4 1/2 yrs. old.* Another important consideration is that the handle on the City Select extends from 39" to 41", whereas the handle on the Britax B-Ready does not (its handle pivots up and down but does not telescope). This comes in very handy for taller parents, when you raise the canopy on the upper seat (when stadium seating) to give you additional clearance, or when hanging a diaper bag with the seats in the rear-facing position, so the baby is not kicking it.* The City Select offers more clearance for walking with the second seat in than the Britax* The City selects offers four recline positions, from fully upright to fully reclined. The Britax Be Ready only offers three.* Both seats recline on the Britax forward facing, but the second seat is not reversible. On the City Select, both seats are reversible, but they recline fully only in the rear-facing position (with lots of leg room). I actually prefer this configurations as twins are people-magnets and when they are facing towards me and napping it's easier for people to stay away.* You can hang a larger than average diaper bag (like the Lassig Messenger Eco-Friendly Diaper Bag) from the handle with two seats in the City Select. (Note: the stroller handle says not to but because of the weight distribution I haven't had any problems).* The City Select allows for 16 configurations including two carrycots (Britax only has 14)* The Britax B-Ready has a more compact footprint than the City Select, a plus if you don't mind the handle that doesn't extend or are not a tall parent.* For the City Select - handling curbs can be challenging with double strollers like these but if you pull the stroller backwards up the curb, it's actually easier than most strollers because of the large back wheels. It hasn't been an issue for me.Some similarities between the two strollers:* Similar width at 26"* Huge storage basket in both.* Tires that handle all surfaces well, indoors and out. It's worth mentioning that neither stroller is meant for jogging.* The City Select with the second seat weighs 33 lbs., similar to Britax's 36 lb weight, less than iCandy's hefty 44 lbs.* Both have the same recline mechanism on the seats.* Easy fold for both. With the Britax, you can leave both seats in and fold quickly. With the City Select, both seats need to be in stadium seating, fully upright with the foot wells folded down as far back as they will go (not horizontal), and then you can fold it with both seats. Honestly, it's a lot easier and faster to just pop off the seats and fold the frame (plus it fits in most cars because it's very compact).* For the City Select, the "Baby Jogger City Select Second Seat Attachment Brackets" are sold separately if needed on mystrollers dot com (if you lose one for example). You do not have to buy the whole second seat to get them as some older reviews state.* Neither stroller's seats are appropiate for babies 0-6 months (even if the seats recline fully, they're in a "V" shape as the whole seat tilts). You can get optional car seat adaptors but if you live in a city, you may find that a single snap-n-go/ infant seat with an Ergo carrier for the 2nd baby (w insert #2 for babies 0-4 months) is the easiest way to get around for the first year. A double snap n go is even better and less expensive, and will allow you to use infant car seats so they can nap on outings. Another option is the Maclaren Triumph which folds compactly @ 22 lbs, reclines fully and can be used from birth up, if you want to have a stroller for travel for later on.Lastly, I also have Maclaren double strollers (Triumph & Techno) and the Bob Duallie. If you're looking for other alternatives, they're all good, but of all of these, I find the City Select is the easiest and most versatile to use with twins and a preschooler (see my profile for a full review with pros and cons). In terms of quality, it is solid and built like a tank, absolutely no problems after six months of daily use. So if you're looking for getting one all-purpose stroller, I highly recommend the City Select.
