for about 6 of the months I was pregnant, I stopped people on the street who were pushing strollers and asked what they thought of theirs. Most people loved their strollers. But I heard a couple of common themes. The Stokke people occasionally thought it was awkward and they admitted they loved it for the design more than the practicality. The Bugaboo Bee folks thought it was actually too low and too small and they're not sure what it offered over an umbrella stroller.The Uppababy Vista people were the happiest of the people I asked. The all LOVED the storage space underneath. Funny what people point to as the real winner. The ones with a baby and a toddler loved how it converted to hold two kids.If you're in Manhattan, that's mostly the 3 strollers that you'll see. You'll also see lots of City Mini/Elite/Select strollers, but those are often secondary strollers.So I got the Uppababy Vista in Jake (black frame) for my daughter.Some things I love:- The storage - can hold a medium supermarket trip of groceries (note: Sometimes I let my dog ride down there too!)- The look- The smooth ride- The bassinet - my 7 week old daughter sleeps in that half the time as her main bedStuff I don't love- The size. This is big - no doubt about it. Forget about getting on the subway with it, but a bigger deal is that you really can't get it into a restaurant all that easily either. I take my snap n go for that, and when my daughter is older I'll use an umbrella stroller of some sort- (Trivial): No included cup holder (it's funny how just the simple trip to Starbucks with the stroller shows you how much little things like that matter). But you can buy one separately )Overall I recommend this stroller. But it's big. You may want to consider sticking with a Snap n' Go with your carseat at first and then thinking about whether you really need more than that. I like my uppababy a lot, but truth is I wonder if I really needed it. My chicco KeyFit and the Caddy do really well for me most of the time.

Great Stroller but large and heavy

We bought this stroller in Mica and love it. It handles beautifully, folds easily, and the brake is easy to lock and release even in flip flops. The basket under the stroller is huge and great for grocery shopping or loading it up with baby stuff when we take him to my sister's or parent's. We also love the bassinet feature. Some of our friends said that they bought the Vista and never used the bassinet because they preferred the car seat option. However, our baby was born in June and in the summer heat, our baby would get super-sweaty and overheated in the car seat. The bassinet is a much better option because he stays cool and can sleep well in it when we go for walks. I recommend getting some flannel bassinet pads on Etsy at the BabyWolfgang store for the bassinet. If the baby spits up or otherwise makes a mess in the stroller, the pads protect the bassinet mattress cover and they are easier to clean. You can carry an extra one and swap out the wet one when you're out of the house or on trips. Plus, they come in cute fabrics so you can personalize the stroller a little.The downside of the Vista is that we live in an apartment and the stroller is huge. Even folded, it's too large to fit in any of our closets. It's also very heavy and cumbersome, which makes it difficult for me to commute with it alone. We are considering getting the Chicco version of the snap and go for commuting but A) it's not cheap and B) having yet another stroller in the apartment is a bit of a draw-back. Overall, I don't regret getting the Vista. I think it's important to have a sturdy, good quality stroller. We also have the cup holder, which works well, but it tends to get caught when we are trying to fit through doorways, etc. We haven't broken it yet, though, so I guess it holds up well!

So as my title implies I have gone through three strollers before settling on the Vista finally.I started with a Britax B-agile because it seemed like the perfect fit, since it could be used as a travel system with my car seat and it folded easy and was light weight. This stroller was a great travel system because I could open and close it with one hand and very easy to open. However, you get what you paid for and after a couple of weeks of use the wheels started to act funny, and once the baby actually sits in the stroller he/she can't sit straight up, which babies love to do...I then decided to get the Uppababy Cruz. I figured it was the perfect stroller since it is from the uppababy family and was less than the vista, which appealed to me since I didn't need the bassinet. It also says its lighter, but it is only a pound or two difference.The quality of the materials is MUCH different than the Vista. It is the cheaper material you find on cheaper strollers. I was very disappointed in this fact since the stroller costs $500! It's fairly easy to open and close, but the wheels are much smaller than the vista and it makes a big difference on the ride and push of the stroller.Bottom Line: If you are going to spend $500 on a stroller you might as well spend the $700 on the Vista and get something worth all the money.The vista rides so smoothly, I have pushed it on the sidewalks of a major city, pushed it over grass, Same ride. My child loves being in it and the bottom bag is AMAZING, you can fit a weeks worth of groceries in there PLUS a diaper bag. The seat can face you or out and the canopy is very large and completely covers a child head to toe. IT is a little tricky to close it, but once you "figure" it out, its easy. This stroller is worth the money, especially if you walk alot.The bassinet is also VERY large and can fit a child until 6 or 7 months or maybe even longer if they are a small baby.
